Addiction Medicine Physician, Outpatient Multispecialty Group
Outpatient facility that provides substance abuse and behavioral health treatment is seeking an experienced addiction medicine physician to work 10 - 24 hours per week at the Lynn facility. This is a part-time position (1 to 3 days per week) as independent contractor working in a modern, pleasant, private practice office serving patients with opioid dependence. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and licensed clinical social workers providing substance abuse and behavioral health care to adult patients of the clinic. The clinic provides medication-assisted treatment for patients suffering from opioid addiction, substance abuse counseling, individual counseling, group counseling, couples and family therapy, comprehensive toxicology testing, case management and medical management of psychiatric medications The physician will interpret test results to diagnose any health issues and provide feedback to patients. Counsel patients regarding medication compliance. Complete patient evaluations and physical exams with thorough, timely documentation to include coordination of care. Patient follow-up visits regarding patients' progress with medication and/or treatment. Contact patient's PCP and/or specialist(s) when necessary. Evaluate lab results and provide consultation with Mid-Level Providers regarding abnormal results. Review and oversee progress and treatment plans, including making any adjustments Most people cannot just walk away from opioid addiction. They need help to change their thinking, behavior, and environment. This is where medication-assisted treatment options like Suboxone benefit patients in staying sober while reducing the side effects of withdrawal and curbing cravings which can lead to relapse. Candidate must have experience with substance abuse, a current, in good-standing Massachusetts M.D. or D.O. License and DATA (XDEA) waiver.
