duties
Job Summary:
-Accurately handles incoming phone calls, SMS requests, electronic web requests, performs patient registration, placing outbound phone calls to clients and scheduling.
-Ensures accurate and timely completion of inbound scheduling requests via fax or electronic work queues.
-Indicates special patient needs (ex: special accommodation, exam protocols, interpreter, etc.).
-Ensures staff and clients are aware of upcoming schedules
-Completes client intake scheduling with all necessary demographic/insurance information and forms/documents in efforts to expedite the client onboarding process.
-Coordinates with client's family schedules and staffing.
-Connects client with office biller for insurance verification.
-Proactively solicits customer feedback.
-Provides proactive and timely responses to internal and external customer needs and requests.
-Meets individual productivity and quality expectations in all job functions.
-Escalate cases as appropriate. Reports errors and mistakes found in system to direct supervisor to promote education, coaching and training opportunities of others.
-Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
-One-three (1-3) years of prior experience.
-Computer proficiency 35 wpm required typing speed.
-Positive attitude, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills appropriate to the job.
-Ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
-Understands client needs and scheduling functions.
-Understands the basics of healthcare billing.
-Must have clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
-Ability or experience working in a high call volume environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
-Private Duty Home care scheduling experience preferred
-Applicable experience as Scheduler, Practice Office Assistance or Patient Access Representative.
-Electronic Medical Record experience preferably Med Syst Vincent.
