Armed Security Guard

Personnel will be responsible for providing security services at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers location.

Responsibilities

• Communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to orders.
• Interact and escort as required with public and government personnel.
• Provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
• Follow applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property and equipment.
• Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks and package & parcel inspection.
• Work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Armed Security Guard certification through DCJS.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Certified in use of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray.
• Certified in use of Batons.
• Minimum of one year experience preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization.
• Possess a current CPR certification through the American Red Cross.
• Successfully meet PAT physical agility standards as set forth by customer:
  
  • 1.5 mile run in 17:30 minutes.
  • 19 push-ups in 2 minutes.
  • MMPI test.
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications: MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
