Position Description:

The University of Louisville's College of Business is seeking a dynamic and motivated Temporary Student Career Specialist (Career Coach) to join the team in the Ulmer Career Management Center on a part-time temporary basis. This position will focus on coaching undergraduate business students, graduate business students, and alumni from the College of Business with career direction and preparation for the professional job market through in person and virtual one-on-one appointments. Additional career coaching responsibilities include administering and interpreting assessments, assisting with self-marketing (resumes, interviews, negotiations), and co-designing strategic action plans with business students.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of related experience (career coaching / counseling at the university level, coaching individuals in career transition, academic advising, or workforce development) and a bachelor's degree in counseling, college student personnel, higher education, psychology, human resources, business, or related fields.

Candidates with any of the following are of particular interest to us:
  • Certifications such as GDCF, CCSP, NCC, CPRW, NCRA, or those from the ICF
  • Experience using career assessments such as Focus 2, Self-Directed Search, CareerLeader, and Clifton Strengths
  • Experience working with college students
  • Use of career-services software system such as Symplicity, Handshake, or others
