JLL’s Chief Counsel—Government Contracts provides a high level of professional legal service and advice on a wide array of legal issues regarding JLL’s Government Contracting business, and will interact with members of senior business leadership, the legal team, external counsel, clients, suppliers, outside agencies, and others as required to perform their job responsibilities. Areas of practice will include, but are not limited to, research, compliance, contracts and transactional work, professional services, facilities management, real estate, employee matters, intellectual property, risk management, and other areas as needed. Desired Skills and Experience include strong contract interpretation and drafting skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of FAR and DFARS, experience negotiating Government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and NDAs, knowledge of Government ethics compliance, and understanding of risk management/mitigation issues related to contracts for professional services. Core Responsibilities include reviewing, consulting on, and drafting contracts with Federal Government, SLED clients, prime contractors, and vendors; supervising and mentoring Government Contracts legal staff; coordinating with business and external counsel to develop strategies for commercial disputes; advising on bid protests and contract disputes; advising on small business issues and joint venture formation; developing and updating JLL policies and template agreements; acting as a trusted business partner on government contracting, compliance, disputes, and best practices; staying abreast of legal developments; liaising with Risk Management; counseling business leaders on compliance and ethics; creating and conducting training; and supporting technology solutions and knowledge management. Qualifications include a Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school, 10+ years of experience in Government contract law, licensure to practice law in at least one U.S. state or DC, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in teams, and acute attention to detail.
