Northrop Grumman Space Sector has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Software DevOps Engineer (Level 5) supporting an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) group. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified, diverse, and innovative individuals. This position can be located in either Colorado Springs, CO or Boulder, CO.

Position Overview:

As a Staff Software DevOps Engineer on an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand system requirements and create and implement DevOps solutions using tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, SonarQube, Gherkin, Cucumber, Docker, and others to enable quick and efficient software development and delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with automated testing and software development pipelines/factories
  • Experience deploying applications in a containerized environment
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using tools like Gherkin and Cucumber for automated acceptance testing
  • Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, Code Quality, Static Analysis, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, and Jenkins.
  • Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
  • Experience implementing complex mathematical algorithms in code
  • Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis
  • Experience with battle management and/or fire control systems
  • Experience developing software in an Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
  • Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics or Computer Science

Salary Range for Locations:

Colorado Springs: $161,000 - $241,400

Boulder: $177,00 - $265,600

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
