A well-established commercial general contractor in Philadelphia is seeking a Director of Construction to lead project delivery, strengthen operational performance, and support the continued growth of the business. This is a senior leadership position overseeing multiple project teams, ensuring best-in-class execution across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide executive oversight across all active construction projects
• Mentor and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
• Drive project performance, quality, safety, schedule, and financial results
• Establish operational standards, processes, and reporting structures
• Support strategic planning, business growth, and client relationship development
• Oversee staffing plans, resource allocation, and project startup processes
• Partner with preconstruction to review budgets, schedules, and risk assessments
• Represent the company in client meetings, negotiations, and key project milestones
What We’re Looking For:
• 12+ years of commercial construction experience with progressive leadership
• Proven success delivering commercial, institutional, or mixed-use projects
• Strong operational and financial acumen
• Ability to lead multiple teams and manage complex workloads
• Excellent communication, client-facing, and decision-making skills
• Experience implementing processes, training programs, and performance metrics
