Driver Helper

Schedule :

Full-Time
M-F

Start time varies from 7:00 am – 3:30pm, possible overtime and weekends occasionally

Payrate: $18/hr.

Job Description :

• Successful Driver Helpers communicate clearly to the customers, follow guidelines to arrange objects or actions are in a certain order, and perform these roles while effectively managing their time.
• The ideal Driver Helper candidate will also support their driver and assist in handling a variety of warehouse equipment to aid in loading and unloading the delivery truck in a timely manner.
• Deliveries are considered “full installations” – Unbox, deliver, install, remove all packing material and setup appliance for consumer use as well as perform haul away of old appliances.

Job Functions:

• Be prepared and understand that this is a 2-person team delivery route work.
• Mon- Fri with some OT
• Must be able to work well with as a team with both the larger group as well as whomever the candidate is partnered with on a route.
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and upward on a consistent basis as required by the delivery
  • We take every opportunity to utilize the proper delivery equipment to minimize “muscling” product but there are instances where a two-person carry is unavoidable.
• Pickups/Deliveries island wide
• Loading and offloading of vehicles
• May include some warehousing work.
• Must be able to communicate w/ customers and co-workers effectively and professionally.
• Completion of various paperwork for deliveries, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions :

• Type 3 driver’s license is not a must but highly preferred.
• Will train installation piece as long as candidate is somewhat mechanically inclined.
• Must be reliable and responsible to get to work on time.
• Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
• Regularly lift and /or move objects 10-50lbs.
• Have a good knowledge of island roads to assist driver navigate and deliver appliances to various locations on the island.
• Must be able to spend long hours standing, bending, walking, and stretching
