Salary: $ 20.00 - 24.00 HR DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION

EXPERIENCED LABORER - SEAL & STRIPE

Summary: Use sealcoat materials and equipment to apply sealcoating. Use hand striper for assortment of road markings. Clean and repair striping equipment. Direct traffic with flags or signs. Cone wet paint lines. Load materials for striping operations. Perform tasks involving physical labor at roads/highway/residential/commercial and heavy construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites.

Essential Functions:

• Sweep and clean asphalt, as needed
• Sweep and clean asphalt, as needed
• Seal all cracks with hot rubberized crack sealer, treat all oil spots with oil sealer, and apply coats of commercial grade sealer
• Help with traffic control during seal coat application period
• Direct traffic with flags or signs, when needed
• Fill sealing tank with sealer
• Perform tracking, center line and edge line striping, paint curbs, road markings, and messages
• Help to restripe areas to existing layout
• Set up, operate, and maintain spray paint equipment
• Use and maintain a variety of hand and power tools
  
• Operate a specialized piece of heavy equipment
  
• Read and follow blueprints and/or sketches
  
• Work effectively with the public
  
• Willingness to work with paint fumes and corrosive solutions

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or the equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in road construction preferred specifically in seal and striping
• Valid drivers license and a minimum of three years of driving experience with a clean driving history
• Safety minded
  
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
