Fire Watch Officer Job Description

Reports to: Regional Security Manager

General Summary

Our security department deters crime through presence via regular patrols and prompt communication of security breaches. Your primary job will be to provide top-quality security at the Desert Hot Springs facility and maintain a high-level of security for employees, contractors and visitors. You should have an orientation toward wanting to help people, not just protect them. Essential Job Functions

Duties:

• Conduct all security functions in an organization.
• Provide security to office staff, buildings and properties.
• Keep the premises free from all forms of dangers.
• Screen visitors before allowing them to enter the premises.
• Conduct health screens appropriately as needed and directed.
• Maintain all security devices and products in good working condition.
• Implement preventative measures against accidents, thefts and risks.
• Ensure compliance of applicable policies and regulations while implementing security measures.
• Patrol Premises to ensure a safe and secure location. This will require navigating ladders, ramps, stairs and an ability to run on occasion.
• Use both hands to reach and grasp objects, to use the phone and radios to communicate with security base or file reports.
• Work in Weather environments ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold or wind.
• Maintain mental alertness and attention to detail, regardless of circumstances.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
• Excellent interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication.
• Follow established policies and protocols, utilizing initiative with sound judgement.
• Conduct record keeping and report writing computer based. 
• Collaborates with all facility departments to ensure success and meet company expectations

Minimum Job Qualifications

• 21 years of age 
• No guard card needed
• Must be flexible with scheduling and shift hours. 
• Be able to lift 25 lbs. on occasion
• Be physically able to comfortably bend, turn, lift.
• Be able to sit and conduct office duties or video surveillance for extended periods of time.
• Be able to walk and patrol both indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time. 
• Be comfortable with computer use.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory restock, and store merchandising
• Ability to carry boxes, products, and other necessary store related items
• Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, maintain all areas of business including back stockroom, employee lunchroom, restrooms
• Ability to safely lift boxes up to 35 lbs.
• Comfortable climbing ladders

Expected hours of work

• Full time and Part time positions available 
• Day/Overnight shifts are available
• Weekend and holidays are expected to be worked 
• Schedules are subject to change
