Position Overview The Head of Accounting is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of Repli. This role requires a strong background in financial management and accounting principles. The individual in this position will lead the accounting team, ensure compliance with financial regulations, develop and implement accounting policies, and provide strategic financial guidance to the organization.
Essential Responsibilities Leadership and Management - Oversee and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Lead and mentor accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
- Establish clear communication protocols and performance metrics for the accounting team
Financial Reporting and Analysis - Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to senior management on financial performance, trends, and variances
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
- Create and distribute regular financial reports to leadership and stakeholders
Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Coordinate and oversee external audits, internal audits, and tax filings
- Identify and mitigate financial risks by implementing robust internal controls and risk management strategies
- Stay current with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards
Budgeting and Forecasting - Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and finalize the organization's budget
- Prepare financial forecasts, projections and scenario financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to senior management on budget variances and financial performance
- Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
Tax Oversight and Management - Oversee the relationship with the external tax accounting firm
- Evaluate the current tax accounting partnership and potentially identify and transition to a new tax partner if warranted
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax documents
- Work with tax partners to identify and implement strategies that optimize the company's tax position
- Review tax filings and ensure all tax obligations are met in a compliant and timely manner
Team Task Management Oversee all accounting processes executed by the team, including but not limited to:
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Accounts payable and receivable management
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow management
- Payroll processing and compliance
- Fixed asset management
- Financial system maintenance and optimization
- Revenue recognition and deferred revenue management
- Vendor and contractor payment processing
- Client billing and collections
- Credit card reconciliation and expense reporting
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification required
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting principles
- Experience managing remote teams, preferably with international team members
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior management
- Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software and Google Drive
- Experience coordinating with external tax and audit firms
Preferred Skills and Attributes - Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software
- Experience managing offshore or remote accounting teams
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience in a public accounting firm or a large corporation
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations
- Experience evaluating and selecting professional service partners (tax firms, auditors, etc.)
Work Environment - This position offers flexibility to work remotely with occasional travel to the corporate office in Suwanee, GA for meetings and collaboration
- The Head of Accounting may be required to work extended hours during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end closings, audits, tax season, and budget preparation
- Must be able to effectively collaborate with the remote accounting team, which may require occasional flexibility with working hours
Compensation and Benefits Base Salary: Starting at $110,000-$125,000.00
Location : Suwanee, GA. This is an In-Office Opportunity with Hybrid Flexibility in the future.
