Job Description

Piper Maddox is partnered with a pioneering company at the forefront of climate innovation, developing breakthrough technology to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and transform it into carbon-neutral e-fuels. With bold plans for global scale and real-world impact, they are seeking a Head of Manufacturing to build and lead their production capabilities from the ground up.

This is a high-impact, fully onsite leadership role based in New York City. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder, process-oriented leader, and strategic thinker ready to transition a novel hardware product from prototype to scalable production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage in-house light manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Scale production to deliver 2+ units per week, with iterative improvements
  • Own the full production lifecycle—from inbound parts to functional systems
  • Optimize workflows, inventory, BOMs, and cost structures
  • Hire and lead a team of assemblers and production staff (10+)
  • Design and implement scalable manufacturing systems for global deployment
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and leadership teams
  • Evaluate vendors, partners, and suppliers to strengthen supply chain
  • Ensure quality standards and compliance with environmental requirements
  • Report on production KPIs, timelines, costs, and readiness for scale
  • Support investor conversations with operational plans and performance metrics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 12+ years in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain leadership
  • Experience with steel/plastic structures, fabrication, and assembly
  • Proven ability to take hardware from prototype to high-volume production
  • Comfortable with hands-on work, inventory, and production planning
  • Deep understanding of cost reduction and capital equipment planning
  • Strong communicator and team player—pragmatic, low-ego, solutions-focused
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to NYC (100% onsite role)
  • Bonus: Experience in sustainability, hardware startups, or clean tech manufacturing
