Job Description

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a Support Magistrate in the 8th Judicial District. This position will be assigned to the Niagara County Family Court and elsewhere within the district as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting conferences and hearings.
• Researching and analyzing complex legal issues.
• Reviewing documents.
• Determining credibility of testimony and admissibility of evidence.
• Making findings of fact and conclusions of law.
• Preparing detailed written decisions.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, three (3) of which must be in New York State, gained after admission to the New York State Bar; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Base Salary: $140,881
