Job Description
Job Summary:
The Home Health Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant provides compassionate, hands-on personal care and support to individuals in their homes or residential setting. This role assists clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors their condition, and ensures a safe, clean, and supportive environment under the direction of a licensed nurse or supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
Take and record vital signs, monitor changes in condition, and promptly report concerns to the supervising nurse.
Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting dignity and independence.
Assist with medication reminders (as permitted by state regulations).
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current HHA certification or CNA license (as required by state).
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Experience working with elderly or developmentally disabled clients preferred.
Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing quality care.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
