The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Role Purpose:

Responsible for handling complex employee relations issues, ensuring legal compliance, and leading strategic HR initiatives. They manage sensitive investigations, oversee adherence to labor laws and company policies, and provide guidance on organizational development. The HR Consultant ensures the plant maintains a positive work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns, fostering open communication, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Effectively deploys hiring process for new team members.
  • Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that protects the needs of the plant to operate in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Coaches and counsels plant management in development and demonstration of leadership and management practices required to establish and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and/or delivering HR programs (e.g., attendance tracking, training, communications).
  • Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures to ensure plant compliance with safety requirements and local, state, and federal employment laws. 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or Organization Development, labor relations or related.
  • At least 5+ years of HR experience.
  • HR experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience resolving employee relations issues and conflicts.
  • Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and policies.
  • Hiring / selection experience with direct and indirect employees.  Preference is that the candidate possess experience with direct labor recruiting.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications a plus.
  • Labor relations experience strongly desired.
  • Experience with tracking FMLA, W/C, and DIS.
  • Desire to maintain presence on the factory floor.
  • Able to lead meetings that involve stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Applied Six Sigma Lean or Kaizen experience.

The range for this position is   $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
