Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting operations of our finance team during a transitional period. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing month-end close, overseeing general ledger activity, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

• Supervise a small team of accountants; provide coaching and guidance as needed

• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit and compliance processes

• Monitor and improve accounting policies and internal control procedures

• Assist in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

• Support ad hoc projects including process improvements, system upgrades, or transition planning. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)

• Minimum 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including management

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting operations

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise)

• Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines

• Prior experience in interim, contract, or turnaround roles a plus

• Excellent communication and analytical skills
