Job Description

The HT Group has partnered with an intellectual property law firm with multiple locations nationwide to find a people-focused Legal Recruiting & Professional Development Manager. This individual will lead the Recruiting Department and partner with Firm leadership to shape and execute a strategic legal recruiting and development plan. The role involves close collaboration with the Firm’s hiring partner, Recruiting Coordinator, and other administrative managers. Must have law firm experience to be considered. 

 
Location: Houston TX 77046 (On-site)
Compensation: $100-130k 

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all legal recruiting initiatives, including lateral hires, summer associates, and intern programs.
  • Oversee the summer program (training, mentorship, evaluations, events, and budget).
  • Maintain and build relationships with law schools and universities; attend recruiting events and career fairs.
  • Utilize recruiting platforms such as LawCruit, 12Twenty, Flo Recruit, and LinkedIn.
  • Manage applicant workflow and ensure alignment with firm culture.
  • Support CLE programming, including scheduling, accreditation, and event coordination.
  • Partner with Marketing and HR on branding, surveys, and client CLE events.
  • Lead non-partner timekeeper evaluations and participate in performance-related discussions
  • Plan firm events and cultural initiatives (e.g., birthdays, holiday parties, celebrations)
  • Monitor recruiting budgets and reporting as needed
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting or a related field
  • 2+ years in a legal environment required 
  • Experience with intellectual property law or technical backgrounds a plus
  • Familiarity with NALP and related professional development networks preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with LawCruit, Canva, and other tools a plus
