P osition Overview
Responsible for organizing, handling, and following general maintenance and electrical needs for machinery and equipment, as well as the facility.
Key Accountabilities
Electrical Work 50%
- Install and maintain electrical systems such as new equipment, alarms, and lighting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming and logic on industrial equipment
- Read and understand electrical schematics
- Install and maintain safety and distribution components such as interlocks, switches, and circuit-breaker panels
- Routinely inspect and replace outdated or old wiring and components
- Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations
- Plan and design layouts of fixtures, wiring pathways and other electrical elements in an industrial setting Identify and mitigate safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues
General Maintenance 30%
- Maintain production and lab machinery and equipment in proper working condition by performing regular, preventive maintenance (electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
- Diagnose and analyze problems, implement solutions, perform repairs whenever required and verify effectiveness.
- Contact external maintenance sources when strictly required.
- Complete equipment maintenance logs and keep accurate records of repairs done, routine maintenance procedures completed and items that required the work.
- Follow and organize the purchasing of necessary tools, equipment, and material for the workshop. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area: clean up after jobs
Equipment Management 20%
- In accordance with management, evaluate and plan machinery or equipment purchases, including technical requirements in terms of specifications, based on the needs of the production, with the aim to optimize the production itself.
- Properly store the manuals provided by plant and machinery manufacturers.
- Follow the installation and set-up of new machinery and equipment and assist any outside personnel.
- Instruct and train workers on proper operation of installed machines.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of industrial electrical experience
- Completion of electrician apprenticeship and certifications or electrician degree from a technical college.
- 2+ years of maintenance or journeyman experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repair knowledge
- ability to disassemble and reassemble
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Forklift experience
Preferred
- Trade or technical certificates
- Plumbing experience
