We are seeking an Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role will involve leading product definition, design validation, and engineering drawing compliance within an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: North Hollywood, CA/ Los Angeles, CA

Duration: 6-12 months (With high possibility of extension)

Role Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a critical role in aerospace product definition and design governance, ensuring engineering drawings, 3D models, and development processes meet strict industry and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong GD&T expertise, CAD proficiency, and leadership experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensional correctness, and compliance with ASME and ISO standards as an Mechanical Design Engineer .
• Participate in business requirement discussions and provide key technical inputs to stakeholders.
• Identify and report non-compliance issues, including errors, inconsistencies, and omissions, and work with project teams to resolve them.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to national, international, and internal company design standards.
• Review 3D models and conceptual designs to confirm alignment with drawings and specifications.
• Check and approve tolerance stack-up analyses for completeness and correctness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of drawings, revisions, approvals, and engineering records.
• Identify and implement process improvements to prevent recurring quality issues.
• Mentor and guide team members to enhance engineering drawing and GD&T skills.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Certified experience and strong expertise in GD&T principles
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and CATIA V5
• Proven experience in data segregation, triaging, and design validation processes
• Ability to work as a design lead to groom and guide engineering teams
• Experience interacting directly with customers to understand requirements and implement solutions
• Strong background in aerospace mechanical engineering and product definition
• Practical experience in design or manufacturing industries (aerospace preferred)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
