Payroll and Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a manufacturing company in Mesa who is in search of a Payroll & Accounting Specialist This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, financial reporting, general accounting, and audit coordination. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reconciliation, with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
This is fully onsite, Monday-Friday 7am-4pm. The salary range is between $65,000-$75,000 Key Responsibilities: Payroll & Compensation

• Process and review weekly payroll for accuracy and completeness
• Record payroll journal entries and manage cash payroll funding
• Approve and process retirement plan contributions and reimbursements
• Monitor daily bank activity and manage cash balances and transfers
• Submit and maintain payroll reports and headcount tracking

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Review and approve weekly AP check runs and reconciliations
• Generate and enter sales invoices into the accounting system
• Prepare AR reconciliations and remittance files; initiate payments

Reporting & General Accounting

• Prepare recurring and ad-hoc journal entries
• Reclassify employee reimbursements and maintain expense accuracy
• Review and approve bank reconciliations, inventory and cost reports
• Compile intercompany billing, cash flow, and healthcare reports
• Prepare monthly P&L statements and final reporting packages
• Manage lease accounting entries and AR management reports

Audit & Compliance

• Coordinate annual financial, retirement, and workers’ comp audits
• Compile transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or finance (manufacturing experience preferred)
• Strong Excel skills(formulas, VLOOKUPS, etc)
• Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll laws, and compliance standards
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
