We are looking for a skilled Project Cost Manager / Accountant to join our team in Schenectady, New York. This is a long-term contract position that requires expertise in construction project accounting and cost management. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in overseeing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in cost tracking, and implementing improvements to streamline operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee project-based accounting tasks, ensuring accurate cost tracking and billing.
• Perform reconciliations and expense allocations to maintain financial accuracy.
• Develop and refine processes to enhance efficiency and streamline procedures.
• Collaborate with small teams to manage construction-related financial operations.
• Monitor and allocate project costs in alignment with company budgets and objectives.
• Utilize Sage300 Construction/RE to manage accounting activities effectively.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of process improvements across accounting functions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and financial regulations.
• Assist in identifying areas for system optimization and recommend solutions.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or project accounting.
• Proficiency in cost accounting and expense allocation.
• Strong understanding of project cost management and financial tracking.
• Experience with Sage300 Construction/RE or similar accounting software.
• Ability to work collaboratively within small teams.
• Solid analytical and organizational skills to handle complex financial data.
• Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members.
