Summary:
To plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our restorative nursing program and its procedures in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs to maximize the resident's existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence, and minimize the negative effects of disability with an attitude of realistic optimism.
Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates restorative care programs in alignment with regulatory standards. Oversees policy creation, standardization of procedures, and continuous improvement of restorative services.
Assesses residents, develops individualized care plans, and delivers therapy services while maintaining accurate records. Encourages ADLs, monitors progress, and ensures respectful, rights-based treatment.
Coordinates with nursing, medical, therapy, and administrative teams. Maintains liaison with residents and families, participates in interdisciplinary meetings, and reports progress and concerns to leadership.
Recruits, trains, orients, and supervises restorative staff. Develops in-service education programs, ensures compliance with OSHA/CDC guidelines, and evaluates staff performance.
Assists in QA programs, ensures infection control and safety protocols are followed, conducts audits, and implements corrective actions. Maintains confidentiality and upholds resident rights.
Manages restorative equipment use and maintenance, ensures availability of protective equipment, and oversees safe and efficient supply usage. Reports hazards and recommends departmental needs.
Key Qualifications:
Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a LN in this state.
