We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant (internal title may be Senior Accounting Associate) to join our dynamic Telecom Construction company. As the Senior Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports, job costing, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Minimum core working hours are 9 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. M-F. This is not flexible.
• We will only consider local candidates within 40 minutes commute from our office in Boca Raton, FL. No out-of-area candidates will be considered unless already completing self-relocation to area timely.

• We are not using headhunters or search firms.
• This is NOT a Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, Analyst, CFO nor Controller role. We're looking for a Staff Accountant, Accounting Associate or similar.
• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required for this role (no exceptions). Will consider strong Staff Accountant or Senior Staff Accountant/Associate candidates but CPA is strongly preferred. (Exact title of Senior Accountant will require CPA).
• Paperless work environment - must be computer literate (details below).

What You'll Do:

• Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements in accordance with company month-end closing procedures
• Maintain and update various general ledger accounts on a weekly basis with supporting schedules and reconciliations for month-end closing and year-end audit
• Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Strong understanding of depreciation and amortization of fixed assets and interest expense related loan commitments
• Knowledge of job cost accounting, job contracts and related accounting entries to record and reconcile retainage
• Strong understanding of processing and analyzing company bank and credit card transactions related to expense reporting while interacting with employees in a professional manner
• Monitor, review and maintain internal control procedures while making recommendations for improvement for senior management approval
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (will not consider AS degree or below for this role)
• Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience (prefer 5+ years for Senior role)
• Public accounting experience a plus (in addition to Corporate Experience)
• Florida CPA is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong understanding of bank processes and financial data analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be punctual and responsible with a good professional attitude
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks or similar software
• Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office 365
• Strong Excel skills with emphasis on v-lookup and pivot table functions
