Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Hawthorne, California. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting practices and financial reporting. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of a credit union by ensuring compliance, accurate reconciliations, and insightful analysis. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Conduct thorough reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank statements. • Generate and analyze financial reports, including regulatory filings and management reports. • Support month-end and year-end close processes by organizing and verifying financial data. • Assist in preparing Board reports and 5300 Call Reports to meet regulatory requirements. • Maintain proficiency in accounting systems, including updates and troubleshooting. • Ensure adherence to compliance regulations such as NCUA and BSA/OFAC standards. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy. • Provide analytical insights to support strategic decision-making. • Monitor fixed asset accounting and assist with related audits and reviews.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail. • Familiarity with financial services, banking, or credit unions is preferred but not mandatory. • Proven expertise in journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting. • Experience with regulatory reporting, including 5300 Call Reports, is highly desirable. • Proficiency with accounting systems; experience with AvidXchange or fixed asset accounting is a plus. • Strong knowledge of compliance regulations such as NCUA and BSA/OFAC preferred. • Analytical mindset with the ability to handle complex financial data and reporting.6b250ea6-cee3-481d-915c-f7283f1b2f1b
