We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Staff Web Experience Engineer to own and evolve the Slack online experience for developers. You will shape how developers interact with our platform online, ensuring a seamless, informative, and engaging journey across all our web properties. This includes maintaining and enhancing core sites like slack.dev, developing AI-powered tooling, managing infrastructure, and unifying our web presence. Responsibilities Own and Enhance Core Web Properties: Lead maintenance and enhancement of slack.dev (currently WordPress). Optimize Content Publishing: Improve tools and processes for content contribution, reducing time-to-publish. Drive Web Property Unification: Consolidate resources across slack.dev, docs.slack.dev, tools.slack.dev, and migrate sites as needed. Manage Web Infrastructure & CI/CD: Oversee pipelines like GitHub Actions and infrastructure for documentation and web properties. Develop Web Accessible AI Tooling: Build AI tools to improve developer productivity, such as code generation and search enhancements. Improve Developer Experience: Enhance onboarding, reduce clicks-to-action, and add interactive features based on developer needs. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to align web experiences with platform features and goals. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead technology improvements, promote best practices, and mentor team members. Competencies Expertise in Web Technologies: Strong experience with modern web stacks, website migration, and re-platforming. Infrastructure & DevOps: Managing CI/CD pipelines, hosting, and tooling (e.g., Docker, cloud platforms). AI/ML Interest or Experience: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, RAG architectures, and developer tooling. Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate developer needs into web strategies and solutions. Project Leadership: Leading complex web projects from start to finish. Collaboration & Communication: Effective communication with diverse teams and leadership. Developer Focus: Deep understanding of developer workflows and communities. Bonus Points Experience with CMS like WordPress and headless architectures. Managing documentation websites. Familiarity with Slack and Salesforce platforms. Web analytics, SEO, and data-driven optimization skills.
