Law Fellow (Summer 2025) New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) is seeking law student applications for a part-time summer internship position in its Albuquerque office. The Context: NMILC is a social justice organization whose mission is to advance equity and justice by empowering low-income immigrant communities through collaborative legal services, advocacy, and education. Each year we provide direct legal representation and assistance in immigration matter to thousands of immigrant and advocate for laws and policies that respect the rights of immigrants. NMILC's model focuses on establishing relationships with local, state and national organizations and governmental institutions to expand access to legal services to historically marginalized immigrant communities. Under attorney supervision, interns will assist with case matter before the Immigration Court, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (UCSIS), as well as state court. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on office and unit placement. Generally intern responsibilities may include. Job Responsibilities: Legal administrative support in NMILC office; Conducting intakes with individuals; Performing administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications: The position is open to undergraduate students. Applicants must be fluent in English and Spanish, Dari or Farsi. Applicants should have a sense of humor, excellent written and oral communication skills, and interest in immigration law and advocacy, a commitment to advancing and defending the legal rights of immigrants and refugees and should value working in a diverse and fast-paced work environment. Applicants must be available to be physically present in the Albuquerque Office.
