We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate or Partner to join our Tax Practice group. This position offers a unique opportunity to expand our tax practice.

Job Title: Senior Associate / Partner - Tax

Location: Chicago, IL

Position Type: Full-Time, Hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of tax matters, including corporate tax, partnership tax, international tax, and individual tax planning.
• Represent clients in tax disputes and litigation before federal, state, and local tax authorities.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and provide tailored tax solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior attorneys and staff, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
• Participate in business development activities, including networking, client presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Contribute to the growth and expansion of the tax practice, identifying new business opportunities and innovative service offerings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in tax law, with a strong background in providing tax advice and representing clients in tax disputes.
• A demonstrated track record of managing complex tax matters and delivering high-quality legal services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• A book of business is preferred, with a proven ability to generate new clients and expand existing relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing junior attorneys and staff.
• Commitment to professional development and staying current with changes in tax laws and regulations.
