Job Description
We’re looking for a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) to join our senior leadership team. This pivotal role will shape the future of food safety and quality across our North American bakeries—ensuring every product meets the highest standards of safety, consistency, and customer trust.
As VP of FSQA, you’ll set the strategic direction for quality systems and continuous improvement. You’ll build and lead a high-performing team, partner cross-functionally to strengthen operational excellence, and drive initiatives that protect and elevate our brands. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture where quality is not just a standard, but a shared commitment across every bakery and function.
This is a high-impact, visible leadership role—requiring a strong presence at our Los Angeles HQ . You’ll work closely with senior executives and bakery teams to influence key decisions, lead large-scale initiatives, and deliver measurable business results.
Core Accountabilities
Lead the company-wide food safety and quality assurance strategy aligned to business goals.
Build a culture of food safety and continuous improvement across all bakery locations.
Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, CFIA , HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards while managing third-party certifications.
Drive quality improvements to reduce complaints, improve process capability, and minimize waste.
Mentor and develop FSQA leaders across the organization, strengthening technical and leadership capabilities.
Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Procurement, Regulatory and Nutrition affairs, and Supply Chain to embed quality into every function.
Represent Aspire Bakeries with regulators, customers, and industry groups on FSQA matters.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food safety and quality assurance within food manufacturing.
HACCP Certification and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
Certified SQF Practitioner or BRC Professional.
Proven track record of regulatory compliance and audit success.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience leading multi-site FSQA teams in a complex, high-volume environment.
Knowledge of emerging FSQA technologies and systems.
Experience with sustainability initiatives in food safety and quality.
Executive-level presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Compensation
Salary Range: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00
