Our client is seeking a Head of Sourcing & Procurement to lead and optimize

procurement operations for their extensive wine portfolio. This role will drive supplier strategy,

sourcing initiatives, and procurement efficiencies across key wine-related categories, including

labels, glass, closures, packaging materials, and other winery-related items.

As a strategic and hands-on leader, you will oversee a team, ensuring that procurement aligns

with our clients long-term vision. Your expertise in wine industry sourcing, supplier

negotiations, and cost optimization will be essential in strengthening our supply chain and

maintaining our reputation for quality and efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:

• Develop and optimize a robust supplier network for key wine production materials, ensuring long-term sustainability and quality.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers; glass manufacturers, labels, closure, and other winery requirements to drive cost efficiencies and ensure supply continuity.
• Implement category management strategies for procurement of key raw materials, focusing on cost savings, risk reduction, and supplier performance.
• Strengthen supplier relationships through collaborative planning, forecasting, and quality control measures.

Procurement Operations & Process Improvement:

• Standardize and enhance procurement processes to improve efficiency and minimize risk.
• Leverage data analytics and market insights to optimize pricing, sourcing strategies, and inventory management.
• Implement technology-driven procurement solutions to streamline purchasing, track supplier performance, and enhance transparency.
• Collaborate with winemaking, production, and supply chain teams to ensure procurement aligns with harvest cycles, production schedules, and market demand.

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment between procurement, operations, finance, and sales teams.
• Build a strong succession plan and talent pipeline within the procurement department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience: 7+ years of procurement experience, with a strong preference for expertise in the wine, spirits, or beverage alcohol industry.
• Proven leadership skills, including experience managing and developing procurement teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in Excel and procurement analytics.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make strategic, high-impact decisions.
