The designer is responsible for the completion of designs based on supplied information from either a Senior Designer, Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager or VP of Engineering. All aspects of the design following the initial layout and 3D tool component model will be the responsibility of the Designer, as well as subsequent releases to manufacturing.

DUTIES:

Complete the design following the initial layout or instruction/ guidance of the VP of Engineering, the Engineering Project Manager or a Senior Designer. Review all customer standards to ensure that the final design is in conjunction with all customer specifics and print. Work with a Senior Designer as needed through the completion of the design project. Review all designs for D. F.M. E. A. Generate 3D and 2D complete designs according to department standards and customer standards or SOW's.

CLIMATE:

Work is done in conjunction with others (Senior Designers, Project Managers, Engineering Project Manager and/or VP of engineering). A designer must be conscientious regarding documenting critical aspects of the design projects. A designer will be subject to time and deadline pressures. Most time is spent working at a CAD workstation. Pay is on an hourly basis with the opportunity for overtime. PREFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS: Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in 3D or 2D Designing of Aerospace Tooling, Fixtures, Assembly or Holding Equipment and/or machinery, plastic injection, and Compression Molds. Basic Machining Skills and Manufacturing understanding. NX (Unigraphics), Solidworks, CATIA, or other 3D modeling experience Enjoy working in a team environment, interpersonal skills. Overtime is available. Knowledge of GD&T a plus.
