Client Company

Our client is a leading international company that produces and sells polyamides, intermediates, and high-performance polymers. They are seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join their team in Ohio.

Position Summary

Oversee all areas of Manufacturing and Maintenance to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. Has three director reports and leads all team members in production and maintenance for a three-shift operation.

This individual will lead the manufacturing team of this already profitable facility to the next level of performance and customer satisfaction. Lead production and maintenance, mentor managers, and drive continuous improvement in safety and efficiency. Looking for someone with a hands-on leadership style who can work effectively on the shop floor with customers and the executive team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage the production and maintenance teams
  • Develop and maintain an effective safety program
  • Responsible for operational results and all plant KPI’s
  • Develop and maintain an effective employee culture
  • Deploy focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and effective lean manufacturing techniques
  • Develop, implement, and communicate the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations
  • Ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
  • Achieve optimum employee performance with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
  • Direct major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
  • Participate as a member of the unit leadership team, reporting to the CEO for US operations

Hiring Criteria

  • 7 – 10 years leading a manufacturing team with responsibility for facility KPI’s or P/L
  • Prefer experience in plastic manufacturing, but will consider other related manufacturing experience
  • Contemporary coaching/mentoring skills
  • Assertive but not aggressive style
  • Able to lead effective change
  • Experience in contemporary manufacturing and maintenance practices – safety, quality, production, continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, etc.
  • BS in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or a related is preferred but not required
  • On-site position in Wadsworth, Ohio – must live within a reasonable commute distance
  • Limited travel to address customer needs, work on projects, and visit corporate.
