We are Expedia Cruises .As part of the Expedia Group family, Expedia Cruises of Carmel Valley is looking for motivated, self-starting individuals to join our team who love traveling, cruising, and seeing the world, would love to help others plan their vacations, and are looking to supplement their income with their own new business as a travel and vacation consultant (travel agent, travel advisor).
While our primary focus is cruising, we offer ALL types of travel including air, hotels, car, all-inclusive resorts, land tours, shore excursions, travel protection, group, adventure, expedition, and specialty travel. This allows us to create the perfect and complete dream vacation package that our customers are looking for every time they book with us.
To be clear, this is not a job with a regular paying salary. This is a chance for someone to start their own business as an independent contractor for Expedia Cruises . Able to work as few or many hours as they choose in our center in Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, or from home or anywhere in the world, they can earn commission every time someone books a vacation or adds to it with additional elements, completing the entire vacation experience.
Our 7000+ travel consultants across ~270 centers in North America efficiently plan, arrange, and manage leisure trips for all sorts of travelers. They build lasting relationships with clients whose trust they earn. Many are avid and experienced travelers themselves, able to build personal rapport that is missing when travel is booked online.

No previous travel business experience is necessary.Full training and support are provided by our great team of vacation experts during the onboarding process. And ongoing professional development is an integral part of our consultant's career path.
Our most successful vacation consultants can blend personalized service with professionalism, are very outgoing, not afraid to network, and create access to individuals they can connect with from day one to jump start their business. Love for travel and being able to share relevant experiences help build such relationships. Aside from a passion for travel, being a great and patient listener, the ability to freely dialogue with prospects and clients regularly in person, by phone or e-mail is essential to success. Effective organizational habits and near-obsession for detail is a must. Even though our business is to connect with people, computer, office automation and operation skills are required.
