Part Time - Accounting Specialist

Part of the Administrative department in Fort Wayne, IN, you will manage the A/R & A/P functions for a portfolio of Truck Load accounts.

Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant will support the finance department by performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. This role is perfect for an organized individual with a passion for numbers and a desire to grow in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice preparation and payment tracking

• Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Support monthly account closing procedures and ensure compliance with company policies
• Perform data entry and verify the accuracy of financial transactions
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
• Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
